Osprey and Kingfisher

Osprey, Pandion haliaetus
Yesterday I joined other Sussex Search & Rescue members at Goodwood Motor Circuit where the Goodwood Marshalls Club presented us with a cheque as their sponsored charity of the year. We appreciate their support which greatly assists our voluntary work of searching for missing vulnerable people in Sussex. Please see our website: www.sussar.org
I saw several planes take off. While there I found an Apple Leaf-miner moth's mine in a Wild Cherry leaf.
Afterwards I visited Arundel WWT and saw my first Osprey in this country. A kingfisher flashed past the Scrape Hide several times. A Southern Hawker patrolled the reed bed walk, together with male and female Common Darters.
Today I completed my final butterfly transect at Mill Hill. The count was low again: Adonis Blue, one female, Meadow Brown 8, Wall 1. I then called in again at Arundel WWT and the kingfisher landed on a pole in front of the scrape hide.
