Swallows and Sussex Search & Rescue

Swallow feeding nestlings, Hirundo rustica
On July 1st I visited Arundel WWT on a damp day and enjoyed watching a pair of Swallows feeding three young. The parents constantly arrived with food and the youngsters cheeped as soon as they heard their parent coming. A pigeon nested nearby. I found a Heart & Dart moth at home.
On July 2nd I attended a Sussex Search & Rescue fundraising event at the Newhaven RNLI Fete. I led Nick around in the elephant costume and raised some money that way. People were very generous. An excellent drum band performed near our stand.
