Farlington Marsh and other sites

Black-tailed Godwit (Limosa limosa) at Farlington Marsh
On 12th October I visited Cissbury Ring hoping to see the Ring Ouzels. It was cloudy, windy and cold so I left after an hour. The Yew tree was covered in berries. On 14th I met Mark at a site near Kemptown Racecourse where we checked for Long-tailed Blues.
On 15th I visited Farlington Marsh where Bearded Tits have been reported recently. It was my first visit to this interesting Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust coastal site. There were plenty of water birds and I shall return on a sunny, calm day when the Bearded Tits will be more likely to show themselves.
