Thursday blues and Friday walks

female Adonis Blue, Polyommatus bellargus
On Thursday I did my weekly Mill Hill butterfly transect: Adonis Blue 15, Brimstone, Common Blue, Green Hairstreak, Grizzled Skipper 2, Peacock, Red Admiral, Small Heath 3, Wall. Moths: Cinnabar, Violet Cosmet, Common Yellow Conch.

Friday was a stormy day and we did a morning walk to the pier then onto the new River Arun walkway. Late afternoon blue skies appeared and we visited Arundel WWT and enjoyed watching Moorhen chicks. Sue fed the Greylag and Canada goslings. She hid the seed bag from the persuasive Mute Swan that encouraged her to give up her bird food last time we visited

This sometimes happens when I press the shutter button - bad timing! Makes for an interesting photo though.
