Migrant Hawkers and Common Darters

I visited Arundel WWT yesterday and today and saw Migrant Hawkers and Common Darters, a Water Vole and a female Common Blue egg-laying.
Thursday:
Bewick's Swan, Cygnus columbianus
Dunnock, Prunella modularis
Himalayan Balsam, Impatiens glandulifera

in bedraggled plumage
female Mallard, Anas platyrhynchos
Migrant Hawker, Aeshna mixta
Moorhen, Gallinula chloropus
Nuthatch, Sitta europaea
Red Admiral, Vanessa atalanta
Trumpeter Swan and cygnet, Cygnus buccinator
Water Vole, Arvicola amphibius

Woodpigeon, Columba palumbus
Friday:
female Common Blue, Polyommatus icarus

male Common Darter, Sympetrum striolatum


Common Darter take-off
The pattern on the thorax and abdomen indicates the dragonfly is taking off sideways. The wing direction also supports this.

The mating Common Darters flew off when this spider approached them.

These fish were at the front of the Visitor Centre.
