Pike, adder and a Jay

Adder, Vipera berus
On Sunday I attended a club dig on pasture. No-one found anything interesting. I had a few Georgian halfpennies, a penny, a thimble and some buttons. Afterwards I visited Warnham reserve and Pulborough Brooks.

At Warnham I saw Reed Buntings, Redpolls and Siskins at the feeders. There was also a fresh dead pike lying on a reed bed. I saw two male Brimstones, a  White butterfly flying over the lake in the distance and a Peacock. Four butterflies - Spring has finally arrived!

At Pulborough a juvenile adder crossed the path, and a Jay teased me near Nettley’s hide. A pair of Blackcaps also showed in the distance.
