On Saturday we
were relaxing at home when a familiar noise sent me to the balcony to see a trio of World War II planes fly by heading east to the Shoreham air show. According
to the programme the planes were an Avro Lancaster B1, a Supermarine Spitfire
and a Hawker Hurricane IIc. I prepared the camera in case any more appeared and
was rewarded when a roar took me to the window to witness an Avro
Vulcan B2 XH558 swoop by. Later the trio returned and I was able to grab a
couple of shots.

On Sunday
morning my detecting club had a dig and I found a Chinese coin and a very worn Georgian halfpenny before rain and
lack of other finds sent us home.

After lunch we collected Jackie and enjoyed
a matinee concert at Worthing Assembly Hall with the Worthing Symphony Orchestra
and guest artist Nicola Benedetti. The concert was brilliant and Nicola was
superb as usual. This is the fourth time we have seen her perform locally.
