Cissbury gorse and an early purple orchid

On the way to Findon it rained heavily, but by the time I parked the car it was dry. A very pleasant walk around the outer path of Cissbury Ring, about a mile, was shared with rabbits and some dog walkers. This monument is rated as one of the greatest Iron age forts in the country.

A few cowslips and an early purple orchid were irresistible subjects. The gorse was very attractive.

Storm clouds darkened the sky at the end of the walk and I managed to make it back to the car before the heavens opened again. I stopped by at the grocery shop in Findon for some carrots and bread, it has a selection of everything plus a coffee area.
